New year, new anime, winter season. There’s some that I’ve left out last fall, especially Psycho-Pass 3 but I will get into it eventually. Here’s a list of recaps back in fall 2019 and what to expect from this blog in this chilly winter!

Watched:

Cautious Hero: A ridiculuosly entertaining and wholesome anime with a hook on facial expressions that brings out comedy, and in the last few episodes, it evokes feelings that I never knew was possible with its premise.

Vinland Saga: A journey of redemption of a son of a great warrior, with the story setting enveloped by chaotic wars back in the Viking’s era.

Kono Oto Tomare! 2nd season: A beautiful slice of life that balances romance, music and shounen.

Hoshiai no Sora/ Stars Align: Hardwork vs talent, a different approach to the usual sports anime.

Dr Stone: An epic journey of civillisation of crafts and knowledges blended into over-the-top characters reactions, as the gang enters the age of Stone Wars.

Sword Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld: A season without Kirito walking around is a change of pace.

Watching:

Chihayafuru 3: The continuation of the battle to be the king/queen of karuta, a game of cards has never been so intense before.

Kabukichou Sherlock: If Sherlock lives in Japan and likes rakugo, with an ensemble cast of other detectives and appearance of recognisable names such as Watson, Miss Hudson, Mycroft, Irene and Moriarty.

Boku no Hero Academia 4th Season: Struggling to keep up with the anticipation weekly, seeing the side characters in a new spotlight.

Plan to watch:

Haikyuu!!: To The Top (4th Season): Finally, it’s here.

Kyoukou Suiri: A supernatural detective-style case-solving duo with the female lead hoping to get married to the male lead.

Isekai Quartet 2nd Season: First season was awkward and entertaining, but as Naofumi joins the quirky gang, it’s gonna be a lot of fun in a whole new level.

Darwin’s Game: Tagged as shounen, action and mystery with the main character stuck in a mobile game when invited to test it, and there’s no way out.

The Case Files of Jeweler Richard: A duo of a jewerly appraiser and a bright college student solving jewel-related cases by disclosing hidden psychological aspects of their owners.

Natsunagu!: A heartfelt coming-of-age story where a university girl meets different and unique people in search of her friend, packed within 12 episodes, 5 minutes each.

Reviewing:

  • All anime listed in the watched list except Dr Stone and SAO. (in these following weeks)
  • Chihayafuru 3 and Kabukichou Sherlock so far. (after they’ve ended)

Episodic review:

As I’ve not yet seen any of the new anime this season, this will be decided afterwards so I can expect what type of review would suit them the most. Most likely only one would be chosen among the 6 plan-to-watch anime. The episodic review day will be decided based on their airing date:

Jan 4: Darwin’s Game

Jan 7: Natsunagu!

Jan 9: The Case Files of Jeweler Richard

Jan 11:Haikyuu!!: To The Top

Jan 12: Kyoukou Suiri

Jan 14: Isekai Quartet 2nd Season

while reviews ( for 4 fall anime) will be posted on Mondays, Fridays/Saturdays. At least, that is what I’ve planned for this winter so far. But anyway, I’m very much looking forward to my first episodic review! Thanks for reading and I’ll see you soon on the review of … Stars Align.
