“Spring will be here soon. Spring, the season I met you, is coming. A spring without you … is coming. ”

To be sentimental and get chills just by typing what Kousei Arima said, this lockdown must have taken its toll on me. And oh, it’s April already! Time to move on to the next season. Winter had been one busy season with so many types of mystery anime piling up, but now, let’s see what spring has to offer!

Binge-watched some of them. Courtesy of COVID-19.

(Sorted from A to Z!)

BOFURI: I Don’t Want to Get Hurt, so I’ll Max Out My Defense: A fun blend of begineer’s luck, unique strategies and the power of pure defense by the air-headed Maple in a normal MMORPG gameplay. Also, there’s a flying cute turtle.

Chihayafuru 3: An adrenaline-pumping season with the match of the Queen and Master’s, and a push to the stagnant relationship the main trio is in.

Darwin’s Game: A look into a virtual survival game, if it takes place in reality.

Haikyuu!!: To the Top: Back to the training and character development arc, especially on Kageyama and Hinata. This actually reminds me of how fun Haikyuu is – to be able to watch the characters develop, and all of Karasuno to advance to the top!

ID: Invaded: An anime with mystery and crime-solving elements that approach cases with a special team that can analyse and dive deep into the unconcious mind of the serial killers.

Isekai Quartet 2nd Season: Another decent combination of the isekai quartet with Shield Hero, and Cautious Hero who also made his first appearance there. Can they make it back to their world this time?

Kabukichou Sherlock: A twist done on an ensemble of characters resembling the ones from Arthur Conan Doyle series, with a bit of laughs and tears that unfold with its mystery.

Kyokou Suiri: An unique way to approach mystery and supernatural beings, by connecting with different cases and a misfit duo.

My Hero Academia 4th Season: Each fighting arcs continue to present the best of the stories of the characters involved, while Deku continues to upgrade and enjoy his high school life to its fullest.

Natsunagu!: An adventure of a Tokyo girl that embarks to Kumamoto Prefecture after losing contact with her online friend, due to the earthquakes that occured there.

Somali to Mori no Kamisama: A genuinely heart warming portrayal of the interaction of an emotionles golem as a father figure to a human child girl, as they embark on a monster-filed world journey in search for her parents.

The Case Files of Jeweler Richard: A story of a jeweler appraiser and his apprentice that uncover the little stories behind each jewelry.

Toilet-bound Hanako-kun: Beautiful mix of cute and creepy that can switches between each other, with aesthetic art that nicely blend contrasting colors with its crispy characters outline. In other words, captivating art style with adorable chibi characters.

None. Cleared for upcoming spring!

Plan to watch:

Everyone needs a little cuteness and wholesomeness once in a while.

(also sorted!)

Fruits Basket 2nd Season: A continuation to the story of the 12 zodiac members with Tohru, and possibly, the reveal of the secrets behind Souma’s family.

Fugou Keiki: Balance: Unlimited: A mystery-solving detective-style story with two duo – one with money, and one with wits. Made by CloverWorks ( Bunny Girl Senpai, The Promised Neverland .. ).

Kaguya-sama: Love is War Season 2: Just another normal day with only ordinary conversation in the student council room between the president and the vice president. Nothing could possibly go wrong, right? RIGHT?!

Kakushigoto: A story of a young father and her daughter. But, there’s a twist. He’s a somewhat vulgar manga creator and he doesn’t want his daughter to know this. First 20 seconds of its PV is enough to give me a chuckle, should be interesting!

Sing “Yesterday” for Me: Honestly, I’m just attracted to its melancholic tittle.

Swort Art Online: Alicization – War of Underworld 2nd Season: Can Kirito regain his conciouness again? If so, how? What will happen to the Underworld?

Yahari Ore no Seishun Love Comedy wa Machigatteiru. Kan / Oregairu 3: The last season that hopefully will bring a closure to the unrequisited love, and to see if Hachiman can be changed for the better, or not.

Pay attentiooooon!

I’ve created a Ko-fi page a few weeks ago, and now it’s officially done! If you enjoy Anime as a Cup of Tea so far, you can consider buying me a cup of $3 iced green tea OR other types of light refreshments that you have in your mind.

This actually marks the journey on how far I’ve come to, so for any donation that you CAN afford & WANT to do so, I’d really appreciate it!

End notes:

Thanks for reading! From the looks of it, this is going to be quite an interesting season. But before that, what are your top three picks from winter? Any anime for spring that you really look forward to?

If not, then I’ll see you next week on the review of ID: Invaded … a thrilling mystery with its painfully beautiful little stories. Stay safe!
